When do I pay?
Your first payment is due on or before your move-in date. Thereafter rent is due on the first of every month payable by debit order. Please be aware that for the safety of our customers and staff we do not accept cash on site.
Are there any additional costs?
Our helpful staff will explain all you need to know when you move-in, however it is important to note the following costs are not included in your monthly rental:
- One month deposit (R1500)
- Purchase your own padlocks
- Insurance cover is for your own account
Do you accept cash?
In the interests of safety for our customers and staff we do not accept cash as a form of payment.
All payments should be made by debit order or EFT You will have the opportunity to complete a debit order form for simple and hassle free payments.
Are there any contracts I have to sign?
You will need to sign a lease before you have access to your storage unit. Please remember to give us written notice by the 1st of the month if you intend vacating at the end of the month.
How high is it inside my storage unit?
Most of our units are 2.7 metres high. If you’re unsure your property will fit in the sotrage unit, it’s best to contact us and we’ll help.
Are my goods insured while in storage?
Boulevard Storage does not offer insurance. Please be sure to check with your insurance broker regarding the coverage of your stored property.
How short or how long can I stay for?
Our minimum period is one (1) month and there is no limit to how long you can stay.
What notice do I have to give to move out of my self storage unit?
One of the benefits of using us is that you are not contracted to a long-term lease. Please remember to give us written notice before the 01st of the month within the month that you intend moving out. For example, if you intend moving out at the end of March, you’ll need to give us notice by the 1st of March.
Can I store anything I want?
We would like you to store anything you need but there are some restrictions. Items which we have identified as hazardous and/or not suitable for self storage, and which we do not allow our customers to store in our secure storage facilities are:
- toxic, pollutants or contaminated goods
- firearms, munitions or explosives
- radioactive materials
- hazardous goods
- living plants or animals
- food or perishable goods
- cash and securities
- illegal goods
- waste
Is there a power point in the unit?
Unfortunately we do not have power outlets in the storage units?
What are the hours?
Please note that our office hours are different from our access hours.
Office Hours:
Admin Office is open from 8am – 4pm on weekdays (not on site)
Access Hours:
7am to 7pm Monday to Friday
Saturday 8am to 1pm
Closed public holidays and Sundays
The Pontac Street entrance is the primary entrance for Boulevard Storage.
There is a height restriction of 2.1 metres. Should access for a higher vehicle be required (Max 2.5m), this would need to be pre-arranged via security.
